What is your main role at your company?
As Director of Events, I am responsible for the full life cycle of an event at any of our locations or via our catered services of Vintage Hospitality Group. This includes business sales and procurement, serving as the primary contact to work alongside the client, and then, working with my team as we deliver the client’s vision for that special occasion. It truly does take a team to make it all happen and I’m honored to work with a group of professionals who see the client’s vision and are dedicated to a quality experience for the host and their guests.
What is your number one career accomplishment or highlight?
Burnout tends to happen in the hospitality industry within a few short years, so from a professional perspective I’m very proud of my longevity and the fact that I sincerely just love what I do. I’ve worked under some great mentors and have learned so much from them. Every day I have an opportunity to meet and work with really great people. Personally, I would say one of my greatest highlights is having met my husband while working in the industry. We understand each other’s career demands and are able to bounce ideas off each other. It’s a lot of fun!
How are you involved in your community?
Before children, I was able to serve on the board for Grace House Ministries and would help with Make A Wish Foundation and the local Humane Society. Right now, I have two young preschool children and have been running as fast as I can with the new business start-up of Ravello so my extent of involvement is within my church. Life is full of seasons and, while I’m enjoying this season, I do look forward to volunteering again.
What is your key to success?
I think a key to my success is that I just don’t get thrown by challenges. Challenges certainly come whenever your working with people, especially large groups of people, but I kind of thrive on the problem-solving aspect. But, as I mentioned earlier, it truly takes a team. When the team succeeds, the individual succeeds. Satisfaction of a job well done makes success taste all the sweeter and all the more fun when it’s shared.
